Description

    • Catholic Charities Community Services, Archdiocese of New York (CCCS) provides a comprehensive range of professional human services in the New York City boroughs of Manhattan, the Bronx, and Staten Island and in the lower Hudson Valley counties of Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam, Dutchess, Ulster and Sullivan. They assist more than 80,000 individuals each without regard to race, ethnicity or religion. The major service areas are: case management, information and referral, emergency food services, employment training and placement, homelessness prevention, immigration and refugee services, parish support, thrift store, blind services, deaf apostolate, residential services for the mentally challenged, youth recreational and spiritual services.

Charities Community Services of Rockland, Inc. (CCSR) was established in the mid-1990’s as a outgrowth of the parish social ministry program of Catholic Charities in Rockland County to provide additional social services to those in need in Rockland County. In collaboration with the Rockland County Vicariate, CCSR was incorporated and has received financial support from the local county legislature, the Department of Labor and private donations to provide emergency rental assistance and other services.

Since 1953, Astor Services for Children & Families (formerly The Astor Home for Children) has been promoting the well-being of children, adolescents and their families through a range of programs that prevent and treat emotional problems and facilitate healthy development. Now serving over 6,000 children and families annually, Astor’s current range of services to families in the Mid-Hudson Valley and the Bronx include: Residential Treatment, Therapeutic Foster Family Care, Early Childhood Programs, and Community-Based behavioral Health and Prevention Services.

web: http://www.cardinalhayeshome.org    DescriptionCardinal Hayes Home for Children, established in 1941, is not-for-profit agency providing residential care and treatment for young people who are developmentally disabled. The Franciscan Missionaries of Mary sponsor CHHC. Children of all races, creeds and socioeconomic backgrounds are equally considered for admission. Our agency accepts ambulatory and non-ambulatory young people who function in the moderate to profound range of mental retardation. The individuals in our care are multi-handicapped. Some have a diagnosis of autism; others have cerebral palsy, epilepsy or neurological impairment. Our nursing staff and direct care workers have considerable experience in the care of medically fragile children.
