Help Stock Our Special Dietary Needs Food Pantry

Catholic Charities Community Services of Dutchess County has a  Dietary Needs Food Pantry at our 218 Church Street to assist low-income individuals who have chronic health conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure obtain nutritionalsupplemental food that helps them with their dietary needs.

The following are items needed to serve individuals with special dietary needs due to high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol. This list of food items was provided with the assistance and guidance of a registered Dietician.

Suggested Food Pantry List- Sodium content <140mg per serving, sugar free items

  • Black beans, canned or dried
  • Chickpeas
  • Canola oil
  • Olive Oil
  • Crackers, salt free
  • Fruit, canned, unsweetened
  • Fruit leathers
  • Jam, jelly sugar free
  • Oatmeal Plain – Steel Cut
  • Almond Butter (low sodium)
  • Peanut Butter (low sodium)
  • Tuna fish (canned in water)
  • Salmon (canned in water))
  • Chicken breast – (canned in water)
  • Vegetables, canned, low-salt
  • Salsa
  • Spices (inc. dried onions and garlic)
  • Cheerios
  • Whole wheat pasta
  • Almonds – unsalted
  • Walnuts – plain
  • Jell-O – sugar free
  • Popcorn – plain
