Mission Statement

Catholic Charities Community Services of Dutchess County strives to build a more just and caring Dutchess County by providing comprehensive high quality human services to our neighbors of all religions, particularly the poor and vulnerable.

Vission Statement

Catholic Charities Community Services collaborates with generous volunteers, parishes and both Catholic and non-Catholic partners, to serve struggling families, the hungry, those in danger of losing their homes, immigrants, youth, those with disabilities and others in need.

Values Statement

Catholic Charities Community Services of Dutchess County serves those in need with both compassion and dignity as made in the image and likeness of God.

SERVICES INCLUDE

  • BILINGUAL HOTLINE – Calendar Year 2023 responded to 2,386 requests for assistance.
  • CASE MANAGEMENT – provided on site at 218 Church Street in Poughkeepsie, at satellite offices, and via home visits throughout all Dutchess County.
  • SENIOR HEALTH SUPPORTS PROGRAM – partially funded by Al Smith Foundation. Provides health insurance guidance, food and necessities, and case management for seniors.
  • KINSHIP WOMEN’S GROUPS – for immigrant women held in Spanish via Zoom.
  • HUDSON VALLEY DEAF CENTER – ministry for the deaf.
  • DIETARY NEEDS FOOD PANTRY – hypertensive / diabetic diets.
  • REGULAR FOOD PANTRY – no dietary restrictions, primarily serving clients in case management.
  • FRIENDS OF SENIORS – Non-emergency medical transportation, grocery shopping, visiting, telephone reassurance, respite for caregivers, van trips for shopping Lagrange/Pleasant Valley.
  • CYO PARISH BASED YOUTH PROGRAMS – Basketball, volleyball, spring track, fall X country, arts and essay contest.

In addition, we offer the following for clients and members of the community:

  • FINANCIAL LITERACY – Household Budget guidance.
  • FREE TAX PREPARATION – (2022 – 2023 season secured refunds of $142,065.)
  • AFFILIATED AGENCY PROGRAM ON SITE (CCCS) – Immigration.
